I work for an exhibiting Gold sponsor and we have guest passes that we can give to our top customers. Only, currently we don't have any customers (that's what we're going there to get!), so we have some passes. We have invited some of our crowdfunding backers, but only 5 so far, so we have 5 passes remaining. As most of you live in the US (and hopefully some near Las Vegas), I thought I'd ask here...

Thing with CES is that it's not a public exhibition. It is trade only. But lots of the public would like to go. Usually people that are interested in the latest consumer tech.

CES wrote:
CES is a trade-only event for the consumer technology industry and not open to the general public. All attendees must provide credentials in advance to verify affiliation with the consumer technology industry and must present a government-issued photo ID upon arrival to the event to pick up a badge.

CES is from 5-8 January 2017. The passes are for the entire 4-day event.

What would this pass get me access to?

Do these passes come with a hotel room that isn't $500/night?

90% of rooms in Vegas are way cheaper than that.

When you are in Germany do you have an extra day or two for a short visit north?

I looked for that weekend. They're not.

(I know Vegas is usually cheaper than that, but I'm finding a hard time finding affordable rooms for that weekend)

I have just done a very quick search and found several options for one person/room less than $500 for both nights combined. Granted, the prices are, indeed, generally much higher than I'm used to for Vegas, but there are options.

I definitely wouldn't be going alone, lol. You think I could get away with going to Vegas by myself for 3 nights while leaving my pregnant wife at home?! HAH!

Did you try www.smartervegas.com

Every time I've gone to Vegas in the last few years I got a deal on a hotel I found there (except when I went last June for work and they put me up at the Aria, ka-ching).

I'm not sure of our schedule yet, but probably not. How long would it take to get to Bonn from Munich by train?

The fastest is probably 4.5 hours.

Yeah, so that would be too long.

Or try the Original Lindo Michoacan, it's a bit away from the Strip, but one of the best Mexican food I ever had.

I'll be taking less than $200 spending money, so I doubt I'll be eating at any of those places. :funny:

I thought Earl of Sandwich was very good too...maybe a bit pricey for sandwich, but I found it super tasty and it's not as expensive as fine dining.

There's one in Ceasar's Palace which also has a very decent food court where you should be able to find any decent bite for a good buck.

Also there's several good Pho restaurants, but I couldn't exactly recall which one's are the good spots.

My boss cannot wait to go to the casino. I honestly couldn't care less. I just want to find a cinema.

Don't you just hate it when people give dining suggestions? Especially when I didn't even ask for them. I mean, like, yeah, I'm just going to traipse around Las Vegas looking for a particular restaurant when I have about 2 hours free time per day. "Suggestors" are just gloaters in disguise - they appear as they mean well but they are really just saying "I've been to that place before you". ;)
