I'm currently signed up for English Ed, but I want to double major in English and special Ed.

I would reccomend that - sounds very ambitious - but if you find yourself revising the plan in the first year or two then that's perfectly fine.

I'm just starting out Graduate School at A&M after finishing undergrad elsewhere in 2014. Even if you're not the partier type (I only went to a few), college involves being constantly stimulated/socialized (not necessarily politically - though that can happen too). Your first year you will probably start overwhelmed by all of it, but by the end of it you'll be able to ride the waves. Right now I'd focus on being comfortable in your general environment (roommates, classes, etc) and then attending a student involvement fair where most of the active clubs and groups come out to advertise. As far as making friends, finding a club that fits you is cheaper and faster than the Greek life route and less commitment too.

You have a good head on your shoulders. Enjoy yourself but do not forget why you're there. Avoid the wrong crowd, be friendly and positive.

Well, I had my first fight with my new friends today. Ruined everything.

My friends didn't invite me to hang out so when I went to knock on their door I thought they were talking about me so I listened for a bit but I got caught and they thought I was stalking them. They were talking about someone else.

So you WERE stalking them.

By accident.

Tried out for a couple of a cappella groups today. There were a lot more people interested than Pitch Perfect and Glee would have you believe. Like 10-15 guys tried out for each with 3 to 5 spots available, so I'm not getting my hopes up but still.

You "listened for a bit" and were "caught". Even you don't think it was an accident.

In all seriousness though, just let it blow over, and more importantly congratulations on starting. Have fun, allow yourself to be a little stupid, but don't forget to focus. If I could go back, I would do a lot more focusing.

College classes are interesting. For my speech class I gave a speech on why The Force Awakens is terrible and for writing I wrote an essay on how Harry Potter has affected my life and why I love Order of the Phoenix the most.
