Is it physically impossible for Chinese people to whisper?

You know, just like it's impossible for British people to have great teeth or for black people to swim or for Latinas to not twerk when they hear a beat..

I mean, I've heard them talk quieter, but they never whisper, and they don't seem to do it in any social situation where they probably should (talking in the cinema, talking when a baby is asleep etc.)

I just wonder if there is some biological evidence that supports my theory. Image

They communicate telepathically instead.

I think they do whisper, esp. when a conversation demands privacy or secrecy.

I don't know about Mandarin. But whispering is a singing style in Cantonese and Japanese.

Judging from the video you posted, I guess you don't know what whispering is (they're just singing with a light voice). Then again, you are Chinese, right? So my theory may have just been proven. :funny:

My understanding is when I whisper, I replace the vowel sound with light breathing sounds. Maybe I got it wrong. But this is how it sounds when I whisper in Cantonese.

Listen to the pre-chorus for words like "oi", "guo", "sou" and "han". They are whispered out.
