The news was first reported by radio personality Eddie Trunk [of Sirius XM] on Twitter.

SPIN had long admired Lemmy, speaking to the singer-songwriter and all-around badass several times over the past several years. We’ll update as we learn more.

I wouldn't call him a legend. An alcoholic and an addict, yeah, but no legend.

He was diagnosed with an aggresive form of cancer on December 26th.

A legend, indeed.
