How can this be? I have ab online friend in Hamburg, and he is missing his Cheetos Crunchy snacks. He found them while on vacation in Spain. So I looked into it and found that the Frito-Lay company has no mamifacture or sales in Germany. No Fritos. No Cheetos. No Doritos or Funyuns. And no Flaming Hots. This company has international divisions. In Spain they are manufactured under the "Sabritas" brand. In England they are known as "Walker's". And in parts of Asia they have flavors that I haven't even seen in The States except as an online import.

Is it known why these products are not available in Germany? Do they mention "Doritos" in German-dubbed editions of "The Simpsons"? Recently, these products have been made available on amazon.de as an import, but I wonder what goes on?

Lays in China have some lovely flavours.

I just asked my German colleague and he said that Doritos are available in Germany. Perhaps not all supermarkets stock them. They definitely have them: http://www.doritos.de/doritos.html

Though this is funny: https://www.reddit.com/r/germany/commen ... s_a_crime/

The official appearance of Frito-Lay in Germany is a recent development also, and Finally!
It was about six years ago or more that I tried to find them. So they have a lot of Paprika chips, a lot of paprika, but no Cheetos Crunchy, Fritos or Flaming Hots. Hmmm...
And if the "American BBQ" potato chip is the same as Stateside, well, that's another paprika chip, though different.

Something else that's funny is the name for the "Doritos Cool Ranch" chip. But it's alright. :mer:
