We've discussed this in the Cinemania forum, but the disease had only affected certain movie sites...

It has now hit CNN.

More and more sites are "mobile-izing" their pages, completely ignoring trying to make it a desktop site.

It's incredibly annoying.

I hate what they did with CNN. It's just laggy and hard to find to stuff. It seems like they are wanting to make everything more video news than written stuff. I hate that my ipad pulls up that "mobilized" site as you say. I try to avoid mobile formatted sites if possible.

I already wrote that somewhere but mobile sites are the worst thing that happened to Internet. I hate it when a site goes into mobile mode because I resized the browser to less than half a screen.

And I agree that mobilizing sites has actually considerably downgraded the quality of some sites - they've become hard to navigate or search through.

They just seem so basic and lacking in information. I dislike them too.

Yeah same here.

I also hate mainstream websites and news sites who are copying the shitty clickbait sites (usually linked to on facebook) with a blurb that leaves you hanging followed by "what happened next will shock you..." or something similar.
