 Constipation Some things:
1) I've been having pain, not horrible pain, just nagging pain in my left side for about a year.
2) I finally went to the doctor.
3) Chest xray normal.
4) Put me on Sucralfate to see if it helped (thinking GERD may be the culprit).
5) This was all last week.
6) Today I had to poo
7) I couldn't poo
8) Poo was a rock, a very large rock, it hurt.
9) 2 tbsp olive oil + 1 tbsp slippery elm bark mixed with 12 oz water + 1 can chicken noodle soup.
10) Waiting
11) The largest poop ever. Seriously, it was significantly larger than little Eagle.
I feel like in some way, my doctor just fucked me in the ass.

Re: Constipation Hope things turn around! GERD is no joke. That word was thrown out to me a couple years ago but fortunately i just have a Hiatal hernia, which still sucks as well.

Re: Constipation I took a big poo yesterday. It was nice.
I've had pain before where I couldn't sleep, and it felt like my back was almost broken... But it was just me having to poo.
So hopefully I don't have an issue like that later in life.

You're not kidding. I used to have times when I'd try to eat and the food would just get stuck in my esophagus, sitting there, causing this horrible burning pain while I hiccuped (and once threw up) until it went down. I had broken two ribs on my left side in the past, but that doesn't seem to be the issue (at least nothing showed on the xray). I may have to have them scope me, but i'm really not looking forward to it. _________________

Re: Constipation I usually take an omeprazole pill an hour before I eat something that I, from experience, know might be troubling (like very fatty food or very spicy or when I eat late at night). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OmeprazoleIf I haven't taken it in advance and the pain/reflux begins, then I chew two pills of Gaviscon dual, it contains lots of bicarbonate, calcium carbonate and alginic acid (hsould look for those ingredients) and they build a protective film over your stomach. After about the 7th round, I feel a slight shift on the bottom. I know you aren't supposed to squeeze but fuck all that nonsense, I was in agony. I am squeezing with all of my might, veins bulging out of my neck and forehead. I know that if this doesn't happen soon, I'm going to pull an Elvis and be found on the can with my eyes rolled into the back of my brain.
Finally a fist-sized piece of shit that was holding up the whole show, shoots out of my ass like Lucifer's Hammer en route to wipe out a whole civilization of Philistines. Immediately after that, is a liquid poo firehose that had so much PSI I'm pretty sure I actually lifted off of the shitter by a few inches. Re: Constipation Sometime I can't shit for days. My stomach gets bloated. They have this special tea here, which I creatively call "shitting tea". It help things pass through. Alternatively, just eat lots of protein shakes with little else. You'll be shitting in no time.

If the pain gets bad, and you continue not being able to go, you might go to a gastro doctor.
When you're constipated, Miralax does the trick (but sometimes takes a day or two). There is Chinese flower tea too (Algren's suggestion). I'd avoid the stronger meds (eg, Dulcolax) because they'll mess your insides up more if you have a serious issue.
Also, stop reading online about your symptoms. It leads to severe hypochondria. Stressing about constipation just prolongs constipation (really).

Anyway, I was peeing into a funnel (to collect for lab analysis) when the stone finally broke free and flowed down my ureter. Oh was it a glorious and bloody mess but going from 10 to 1 on the pain scale was almost orgasmic.
3 mm in length. I have broken multiple ribs, back (L4 and L5), hands, elbow, and wrist and kidney stone is the worst of them all--by far.

So... what I did was I ate some chicken alfredo pizza from Olive Garden with some of their new wings.
It appears to have worked. I also ate some mexican food from a greasy, dirty mexican restaurant.
