Romeys Campaign Really Was The Worst Ever
I just watched the Doc "Mitt" on netfix. HIGHLY recommended.
Most obvious take was the character that Romney became - rich aloof gordon gekko type - was almost completely on the campaigns back and nothing else. It is pretty obvious both Romney and his family are very ground, humble, and earnest.
It almost makes me feel sorry for him given how many perceived him...the scenes where Ann Romney cries after Romney owns a 2008 debate & Mitt tears up talking about why he wrote "Dad" on a debate paper were oddly very powerful. His explanation that his father, who literally came from nothing, is the reason mitt is where is at that point was sooooo different than the lines his campaign was giving him to say.
part of me thinks romney unleashed in 2016 could do very well if just campaigned as himself.
