What is it with you guys, do you need everything spelled out? There are many dictionary sites if you are having difficulty with the words I am using.

Delaware and most of Maryland and Virginia sucks. Any state on the coast has the redeeming qualities of multiple cities or towns that are great. Everything in between outside of the major areas you are pretty much bleh. Every State has something worthy or a great area, but it's overrun with a lot of horribleness.

Wouldn't say it otherwise.

I can just say Vegas is not even close to bad. I mean if you don’t gamble, drink, or like sex, yes it’s a shitbox, but that is our Amsterdam. You can get a blackjack and win 12 beers. All you can eat buffets for 5$

They are all terrible cleanliness wise (DC is great in parts though) but the worst places I've ever had to stay in was Allentown Pennsylvania. It may be a nice clean city. It may have over 100,000 people and numerous awards, but there is nothing to do there whatsoever. Not even a decent bar.

I live about 45 minutes from Allentown and head down there every now and then for various things. It's improved a lot in the 20 years since I moved there (and 100% since Billy Joel sang about it), but you're right about there being very little to do. There's one small downtown area with some art galleries and such but that's about it.

Then it's a shitbox. I don't drink or gamble, and liking sex has nothing to do with it. I just choose not to have sex with curb crawlers. Vegas is tacky. Everything is fake. And I would not say it is America's Amsterdam. Apart from a red light district and being allowed to smoke marijuana, there are no similarities. Amsterdam is idyllic and has rich history with many famous and renowned figures giving the city a degree of prestige. Las Vegas is a stain on the landscape where people go for bachelor parties and to cheat on their wives.

I agree. It just feels so... randomly put together as well. To me it's like the city equivalent of just... a lot of loud noises without any message or thought behind it. Plus, permitting smoking inside is gross and that's coming for someone who smoked for years.

It's NOTHING like Amsterdam, a city with its own distinct cultural identity, architecture that isn't just gold plated shite and a rich and long history that's right there to explore if you venture even a little away from the absolute center of the city or bother to enter a freaking museum. And I don't even like Amsterdam all that much.

LOL, ok. You clearly know nothing about Vegas.

It's certainly not for everyone, but to claim it as not having an cultural identity is ridiculous. It's one of the most fascinating cities historically.

Historically? It has no history, so there is no "historically" about it.

My vote for the worst place in America goes to the mainland.
