No offense to anyone here who may live there or knows people who live there or whatever, but...

Camden, New Jersey.

Ew.

Camden, Maryland is about 10X worst. Crime wise, and DC and Baltimore almost 1 in 3 people have HIV. And if I never have to film anything in the worst part of the Bronx ever again, I'll live a happy life.

Georgetown, Delaware (Actually a lot of delaware is white trash) and anywhere on Route 50 through Virginia is Texas Chainsaw Massacre country.

They are all terrible cleanliness wise (DC is great in parts though) but the worst places I've ever had to stay in was Allentown Pennsylvania. It may be a nice clean city. It may have over 100,000 people and numerous awards, but there is nothing to do there whatsoever. Not even a decent bar.

Come on now, never have, I've just covered many related stories there. It's a pretty weird and sad that a lot of the infected are in the same area. (All kinds of pros and cons to that statement though)

Where are you from Dave, East or West? Where I lived in Maryland (Salisbury) was a pretty bad. But I lived in a nice part of it.

Really, that's insane. With that many people infected in that one area, wouldn't the ratio continue to increase like crazy? They need to do something about that. I don't know why there isn't some sort of mandatory STD testing done. Maybe if more people were aware they had things like that, the spreading would cut done a bit. They should have dating websites and things like that for people with specific STD's, that way they can't infect a new person. Like hey, I have herpes but so do you so we can't do any harm to each other, yay!

Where did those stats come from? I wonder how accurate they are. That seems like it has to be some sort of exxageration.

Oh - Yuba City, CA.

The whole surrounding area, actually; Roseville, Marysville, Citrus Heights.

It's basically California dirty asshole.

That's not true! One of my best friends from high school went to Muhlenberg College (which is in Allentown) and I remember going to plenty of fun bars with her when I visited. They were right near campus though.

"Chattanooga Tennessee"

That place is a city today?

Thought it was a small town near a major battlefield...

"Nothing to do" equals "worst place ever"?

The fact that Allentown has some of the best medical facilities in the state don't matter? That the crime rate is low, the government is run by competent people who aren't corrupt, and the budget is balanced?

(They will be building a huge stadium soon that will host world-class concerts and sporting events, too).

And yes, I live near Allentown. In fact, I was there this morning to see my doctor. I drive all the way down there to get the best medical care.

I also don't live that far from Camden, NJ. Now that place is a dump.

Seriously, though. Worst are usually cities with extreme poverty. Detroit is up there, and lots of more rural places in the South.

yeah the big reason why a lot of Canadians have a such image of American cities is because of Detroit and Buffalo.
Its something you never ever see up here.

There was no specification of what constitutes "worst", I gave many for, crime, dirty, dangerous, why should uninteresting be any else. Sure there a lot of small towns that I haven't had fun in, but I expected more from an actual city.

Buffalo is nothing compared to Detroit but for us Canadians even Buffalo seems quite run down.
A lot of us do cross border shopping in the Buffalo area.

Also many people find Niagara Falls USA to be a joke compared to Niagara Falls Canada.

The Hill District in Pittsburgh is pretty bad.

From wikipedia - "About 40 percent of the Hill District's residents live below poverty level"

Not to burst your bubble but Toronto is just all right. At least it's no Montreal. The only thing I can really say was great was seeing a Red Sox Game in the front row for like $5. I liked it a lot more before I went to Vancouver. Once you've been there, everything else in Canada might as well be desolate.
