Given that it has won nationwide awards and sells in the thousands of dollars, you'll forgive me if I pay more attention to the opinions of those who know something about what they think they have opinions on.

Reminds me of a comic I like that I can't find now.

Farmer type is in an art gallery, looking at modern art. He goes from one painting to another, saying things like "Shoot, my daughter could do better than this in her sleep! My daughter has more talent than these people!"

Finally, one of the curators says, "Sir, perhaps you should reconsider -- just because you don't like these pieces doesn't mean your daughter is better."

And the Farmer says "Don't know what you're talking about. My daughter is a Professor of Fine Arts at Columbia University and she has her Doctorate in Arts from Harvard."

So, Algren -- where are your art degrees from? I can tell you about my wife's Master degree in art if you wish. :thumbsup:

She just won another major award, her second Niche Award, competing against artists from all over the US and Canada. :)

Heh. You should see the floor in our place now.

The place we bought is an old refurbished barn. Huge tall ceilings, exposed beams, lots of character. But the floors are all uneven and rustic-looking. Part of the charm but about as opposite as you can get from what we had.

This is bizarrely fascinating. She cornered the market. This might be an odd question. But how many loads of laundry does she have to go through before she can do something with?

I've never had lint. Maybe a Dime size once in 30 years. Does she go out of her way to make sure there is lint?

Believe it or not, she has fans. Fans who send her lint. At least once or twice a week, we get a box full of colorful lint. A lot come from cosplayers we meet at conventions who always work in bright colors. Every year, she sends them all a signed framed print to thank them. "After all," she says, "It's not like I can go to the art supply store and get this."

But she also is the only woman I know who, when asked what she wants for an anniversary present, says "fluffy orange towels."

She filmed an appearance for a network TV show over the summer that should really increase her fan base. We don't know when it will be shown, and we're not allowed to talk about it until the show date is confirmed. :)
