I recieved an Essay today in my language class and I am having problems with it. The topic is: * Write an Essay about the similarites in the Wizard of Oz and Louis Lowry's book "THe Giver". Must have ten. Anyone can help? |

Man, I haven't read The Giver in ages. From what I can remember, though, it has next to nothing in common with The Wizard Of Oz. What a shitty assignment this is. Sorry about that, Amer. |

Reminds of an exam essay question I had 17 years ago (GASP!) in AP English: Compare five characters from the Cantebury Tales with Five appropriate epitaph for each from Spoonriver Anthology and what five levels of Dante's Inferno each would occupy. Explain your reasoning in each case. Absolutely the most challenging problem I ever had on an exam before I got to law school. |

Hmm the giver eh ... well you could go the route of alternate realms ... dorothy is in a odd little world ... so is the character in the giver ... I dont remember the giver enough to help you .... KJ |

I also think the comparison is rather odd, but it has to be 3 pages at minimum and counts 25% of my grade. So far I got: 1. Both Carry Burdens (Giver-Memories : WOZ- Red Slippers) 2. Both worlds have no color to a degree 3. Both have the apple used as theft 4. Both have one person with great knowledge |
