I'm interested to see what the reaction to this is. Personally I think he killed her, and I'm glad he got convicted. I am actually surprised he got convicted in the 1st degree however, I didn't think there was enough evidence for it, I figured he'd get 2nd degree murder instead. What are everyone's thoughts on this verdict? |

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - Scott Peterson (news - web sites) was convicted Friday of murdering his pregnant wife and dumping her body in San Francisco Bay in what prosecutors in the made-for-cable-TV case portrayed as a cold-blooded attempt to escape marriage and fatherhood for the bachelor life. Peterson, 32, could get could get the death penalty. He was convicted of one count of first-degree murder for killing his wife, Laci, and one count of second-degree murder in the death of the son she was carrying. Yea, I kind of agree with you. I'm mixed on the death penalty issue. On one side, I don't think it's right to take someone's life, even if they commited a serious crime. But on the other, I think about how I would feel if I were Laci's father or brother. Or rather, if something happened to someone in my family. I would probably want the person who did it dead. |
