It beat Soul by only one vote! I almost wanted to switch my vote from Palm Springs to Soul and make it a tie since they both deserved this one, but obviously didn't want to abuse my authority as host. Besides, I think I've made my opinions known about ties - don't care for em. Best Actor will be up next! |

Actually lets take a small break for a bonus award. I completely forgot about the Most Overlooked Film award, but one of our users did not, so the winner is.... Calm with Horses Grats to that, whatever it is! I guess I'll watch the trailer! |

Back to business with the history of best actor Best Actor 2004: Jamie Foxx, Ray 2005: Heath Ledger, Brokeback Mountain 2006: Leonardo DiCaprio, The Departed 2007. Ryan Reynolds, Deadpool 2017: James McAvoy, Split 2018: Rami Malek, Bohemian Rhapsody 2019: Joaquin Phoenix, Joker Well we kinda messed up the last two years. Craig and Cooper were robbed. Yet look at the so well deserved McAvoy win. Only at KJ could we pull that one off. And Gyllenhaal for Nightcrawler??? Even with a tie that's awesome. It's a good thing for this years nominees that Fassbender and Leo are off doing who knows what. |

Not my vote (Davidson!!!) but a very pleasant surprise considering how Delroy got totally robbed of a nomination at the oscars. And he was fantastic in that movie too. Hold on... Poor quality video but you get the point. What an amazing scene that was. Best Actress is up next! |

2004: Hilary Swank, Million Dollar Baby 2005: Reese Witherspoon, Walk the Line 2006: Helen Mirren, The Queen 2007: Ellen Page, Juno 2008: Kate Winslet, Revolutionary Road 2009: Carey Mulligan, An Education 2010: Natalie Portman, Black Swan 2011: Viola Davis, The Help & Rooney Mara, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo 2012: Jennifer Lawrence, Silver Linings Playbook 2013: Amy Adams, American Hustle 2014: Rosamund Pike, Gone Girl 2015: Daisy Ridley, Star Wars: The Force Awakens 2016. Emma Stone, La La Land 2017: Frances McDormand (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) AND Saoirse Ronan (Lady Bird) AND Jennifer Lawrence (mother!) 2018: Lady Gaga, A Star Is Born 2019: Lupita Nyonga, Us Now that is a solid list, apart from the 3-way tie that Saoirse should have won by herself. Lupita was robbed last year, and Gaga was such a star. People might laugh at Daisy, but she gave us a new hope for the Star Wars sequels. Whether that hope was fulfilled is debatable (Last Jedi so good, Rise of Skywalker so not), but we can't forget all the ways we loved her at the time. |

Viola was hanging tough for awhile, but ended up four votes behind. I'ma be upset if there is a different result tomorrow. Carey gave not just the performance of the year, but one of the all-timers. Best Director next! We have gone almost an hour over but the end is near! |

Once again have to marvel at what Fennell did with her first movie. Her career looks very promising, so long as Spoiler: show Nolan was close, but I won't say how close just yet. Let's take care of Best Picture first! |

One more time for the nominees for best picture. It certainly wasn't an easy road to get here, but all things considered, we got about as good of a year as any other. Sure it was missing the depth, and the blockbusters, but I think these ten can match up with any others in our history. So let's do this!!!!! The nominees for Best Picture are: -The Invisible Man -The King Of Staten Island -Ma Rainey's Black Bottom -Minari -Nomadland -Onward -Promising Young Woman -Soul -Tenet -Wolfwalkers And the 17th WOKJ Award for Best Picture goes to..... |

Delroy wasn't the best. Hopkins was easily the best actor this year but I am sure tomorrow it won't be the same. Great for Carey and Fennell. Great picks KJ ![]() |

Even if it is a tie PMY winning is the best choice here which should be the case tomorrow but unfortunately that's not going to happen. |
