There are past relationships in my life where I wish that things had definitively stayed at a just friends level. It's all too easy to resort to a "When Harry Met Sally" mentality that a man and a woman cannot ever possibly be friends. But at the end of the day, sometimes, that's exactly the right answer for two particular people. I learned in two cases - and unfortunately too late in each case - that being friends rather than boyfriend/girlfriend was really the way to go all along. Then again, in my particular scenario, that may just be me...
