Re: "How to talk to women" Thread Feel good. It was very weird for me. I've never done anything like it before. I mean, it was just dinner, but it was nice. I think I did well. Made her laugh a lot, tried to limit the awkward silent moments. But man was I nervous.

Friends with this girl for 8-ish years now, she was friends with my ex and now she is not because of my divorce. I've always been attracted to her. So last night she invited my and my friend out for her birthday with like 8 other people. Went out, dinner, comedy show, club for drinks and... dancing. We all got pretty drunk, and her, her roommate, my friend and I got a cab to their apartment. My friend couldn't make it, so I paid for a cab for him to go home. She asked if I was still coming over and I did.
But then nothing happened. I went over, hung out, and then went to bed. She said doing anything wouldn't be in anyone's best interest, whatever that means. So... did I just blow it? Did she unknowingly lead me on? Should I try and pursue something, or just stay friends?

1. You said you met her online, but you've known her for 8 years?
2. Did she know the first one was a date? If you've known her so long, she may have just thought it was a catch up dinner? Did you try to kiss on the first one and make your intentions known?
3. A birthday thing can and cannot be a big deal? Relying on your answer to 2, it could technically not be considered a date either. Di you get her a gift?
4. Did you sleep together in the same bed, or did you take the couch?
PS, I had no idea you were married, I just figured ex meant ex, haha. You're not doing things too badly. But to quote the 40 year old virgin, you should have went after a few hood rats first, and then work up your confidence to the girl you liked.
