All these Democrats who tell lower income people this bullshit that they need them should be completely ashamed. Super liberals make people poor and keep them that way. "Oh no, it's not your fault ____ happened. It is OK that you don't want to work. Here are some hand outs. High school drop out? Well, we would not want you to suffer for not working as hard as others. Here is some welfare and food stamps". Someone needs to pull a Charles Barkley and tell them the truth. Find near any well off person and trace back their history and you eventually find the family in near every family has been lower class at some point. And at some point, somebody did something about it. They sacrificed, they saved, they worked hard, they embraced delayed gratification and as a result, moved themselves upward in society and all their future family members reap the benefits. There were very hand outs and self improvement was mandatory. What a fantastic culture they have created for the lower class. It's terrible and the Democrats should be embarrassed and ashamed for the crap they tell them.

What's funny is I am actually African American and making posts of substance while you have nothing insightful or original to offer the discussion other your untrue and retarded assumption. The smartest people are those most aware of things they don't know. Another excellent and telling sign of modern America's "intelligence" is just how often we hear someone speak or offer a serious opinion on something they know nothing of. In this case, you have no idea whether I am black or white, as if it even matters or is relevant anyway. Stupid is as stupid does, I guess. Keep telling profitable companies they need to pay high school kids $15 minimum wage because you're supposed to get paid what you need to live and not what you deserve to be paid given qualifications. Keep telling 35 year old moms of 3 on minimum wage it is OK that they had 3 kids with financial support while dropping out of high school. Her horrible decisions are not her problem, her problem is her greedy boss who pays her the same as the 16 year old high school sophomore who has the exact same skills as she does! What an asshole for what to make a profit and stay in business when this woman is clearly in need! This fucking culture is so absurd. None of our technologies would exist today if we had operated under this mindset the past 200 years. Yes, we have classes and yes, life is worse for the poor than the rich, but everybody benefits from this structure which lets the rich do their thing because the acts which make them affluent improve the standard of living for all.

You're not posting substance. You're making grand proclamations with little to no evidence to back any of it up. You're just repeating talking points that have been proven incorrect over and over again.

History at pretty much any point in time will serve as ample evidence for my "grand proclamation" that a welfare state which promotes laziness, discourages ambition, and punishes the successful is an overall bad system which limits progress, innovation, and improvement. Hillary Romney and Jeb would all be 5x the President Obama has been. I'd even venture to say Paul Ryan too. Yes, I know he favors making old folks pay for their mistakes rather than letting them just charge their retirement to their grand children's credit card, but that does not make him a bad guy.

"promotes laziness" -republican talking point "discourages ambition" -republican talking point "punishes the successful" -republican talking point (having the rich pay their fair share is "punishing"?)
As far as I can tell, the nation is progressing at a far more rapid pace now than it was 8 years ago. And you can keep coddling the rich while they don't return the favor because "fuck you".

Chippy wrote: "promotes laziness" -republican talking point It's an accurate one. Quote: "discourages ambition" -republican talking point An extremely accurate one. Quote: "punishes the successful" -republican talking point (having the rich pay their fair share is "punishing"?) What you deem as "fair" isn't fair. No, a business owner should not have to pay 16 year old high school kid and 35 year old mother of 3 the same minimum wage because the latter has already made horrible decisions and cannot support her family. That's punishment. Yes, it does make sense that a millionaire pays a lower % in taxes than school teacher, because the millionaire's spending over the course of year pay the salary of 2 dozen teachers whereas the teacher spending pays....? Overtaxing the rich doesn't just hurt them, but it hurts all the businesses where they spend their money. Quote: As far as I can tell, the nation is progressing at a far more rapid pace now than it was 8 years ago Well that would make it pretty fucking obvious you cannot "tell" much of anything. Less people are working now and working for less money than 10 or 15 or 20+ years ago. And you can thank the Big O. Quote: And you can keep coddling the rich while they don't return the favor because "fuck you". "They don't return the favor"? You really have no clue how the employer-employee relationship works, do you? There are no jobs without businesses. I have no idea how you think hurting business owners helps employees. It's the same backwards thinking which is killing our economy.

These people do not get them the skills they need to succeed and then get upset when they're not successful. THEY chose their path. Not anybody else. If it doesnt work out them, largely it is all on them.

Because "thinkprogress.org" is so objective. But I'll argue the point and not the person. Guess what. A lot of those services are extremely bloated and incredibly inefficient. Private companies could get better service for less money. Save the tax payer dollars, who can out and spend them in their local economy, while the poor people get better service. Sorry I have no interest in giving crack heads money to buy food so they can use their minimal work dollars to fuel their drug habits.

Quote: Second of all, that millionaire who is spending money "to pay" teachers? Who the fuck told you that fucking lie? [/quote] Wtf are you talking about? The millionaire buys an expensive house and pays a ton of interest to the bank which employs several people for the year. The millionaire eats at expensive restaurants who employs lower class people. The millionaire spends so much money that they keep the economy afloat. I have no issue with trying to get more people rich and make the richest people worth a smaller average than theyre currently worth as long as it is a good idea. Just taking their money is bullshit. I'd rather have them save $25,000 in taxes which they can spendin their local economy than have the same $25,000 taken out in taxes and given to poor people who don't want to look for work.
