If you think content is everything that matters....it isn't. The way it looks matters too. You can bold some titles, but do not overuse it. The article just looks weird. Try not to bold more than one title per paragraph, bold the title that you are specifically talking about.
Also, no matter how unimportant it seems - always proof-read. The proof-read again. Then have a proof-reading program check it. Every single typo or mistake takes a little away from the credibility. I know what I am talking about. A year ago I wrote an article on my website on some fresh Avengers (I think it was that scoop) and it had two typos over 600 words in it, which prompted several readers to claim that this was not a credible source if it had typos. These things matter to people. Your analysis can be top-notch, but if the text is shabby, people will only see that. In my opinion, if you bold a title, you shouldn't bold it more than once the entire story. Like, if you bold it in your first sentence, no need to bold it again.

That is the exact approach I take for my reviews too. In box-office analyses I bold the title once per paragraph, but only the title I am actually analyzing.

But once again, who will write? If I had a choice of writing for the website, to make it bring in some cash and fully finance itself or simply giving my own money, I would definitely go for the latter.

Re: WoKJ Needs A New Owner
I'll say this again as I have before... If the main site just promoted the Derby and MAYBE a box office analysis every once in a while, it would be more than fine. People aren't coming here for movie reviews, so that should be eliminated from the main site and strictly in the forum. And really, all we needed this year was 1-3 articles about box office (Avengers not matching the 1st, SW7 and something else random).

Do you know of anyone who would be willing to proofread? I was browsing through past BOM articles when I wrote it. Modeled it after a weekend forecast.

Well, I'd assume that I've had more box-office writing practice here than anyone, aside from mark.

Re: WoKJ Needs A New Owner
As far as I can see, there are only two writers here that I would enjoy reading articles from. David, quite obviously, and Webslinger. People like Excel, Lecter, Magnus, zwackerm etc. are just not good enough, and I don't see David and Webslinger wanting to be burdened with that. I also think it is an absolute must that the writers be native English speakers. So the result is fairly conclusive; let's forget this main site dream of Excel's and only concentrate on the forums.

I never felt they were trying to engage their readers. It is basically just a news source. I would only be interested in exciting, well-written thoughts from visionary box office predictors.

Either way, I suppose that was (slightly) uncalled for, so sorry. Work is very stressful at this very moment at 6 am here (my fourth all-nighter this week) and even by my standards, I am easily irritated.

Check mine out.[/quote] nice article zwackerm, I don't usually read such articles on BOM or anything, but this looks like something that I'd enjoy reading once a week as a weekend forecast.
