Well the Indians had every opportunity to put the series away in Wrigley. Winning five games in the world series is near impossible. I had even accepted defeat... before Davis hit the home run.. What a tease that was and now I'm all sad again. Great game and great series. Just sucks we couldn't get it done. If the Cavs hadn't won then the entire city would be on suicide watch. |

This is also a win for Big Moneyball, which has had to suffer through the Giants, Cardinals and Royals all decade. Zobrist and Lester really did earn their contracts. I know Boston won, but that was supposed to be an off year for them until "this is our fucking city" happened. |

Just watched this morning totally unspoiled, due to working last night, but OMG. Best sports game of all time for me. Truthfully the Cubs were lucky not to lose in the 9th with a dead tired Chapman just surviving on sliders. Maybe Joe Maddon's worst move of all among a handful that Cubs fans would've taken to the grave if they lost but  I've only been a Cubs fan 5 years but I'm honored to be a part of this run. Just love that group of guys. Lester, Arrieta, Hendricks, Rizzo was the main attraction when I became a fan and he'll always be one of my favorites for that, Baez's early playoffs heroics, Russell's huge home runs in NLCS and WS, retiring Ross who came up with some huge hits and pick offs in the playoffs, and that's not getting to the MVP and the World Series MVP Bryant and Zobrist (I would've given it to Arrieta, but I understand) and Maddon as the face of the team. I should be considering Kyle as a future baby name between Hendricks and Lowry, but nah, George Carlin is right, names like Todd, Tucker and Kyle suck Hopefully there's a Cubs-Indians rematch next year! Indians are class of the AL in talent |

No, I tried to get into the Blue Jays when I was a kid but never did that much, so I switched to the Cubs a while ago. This thread is so old that I found the post! viewtopic.php?f=1&t=65693&start=150 It was actually September 2012 so four years, but spanning five seasons |

Funny story: In 2007 (I was 20), I worked at a family entertainment center/batting cage. That year, we had a Chandler Little League team practice at our facility every week. The team ended up competing in the Little League World Series. One of the players on that team? CODY BELLINGER. |
