A third chance to match the overall total.

Fed v Nadal Part #40
Get ready!

Nadal leads 24-15

Djokovic is an overall 4-2 against both at Wimbledon.

Nadal does this thing where he gives up a lot of points because he's just not in it, so he doesn't push himself. This causes him to have this massive bursts of energy where he just completely overwhelms the other player. It's fascinating.

Also, why is the crowd so Federer friendly? I don't get it.

Fed v Djokovic

Nadal remains at 18 for a few more weeks.
Fed a chance to extend his record total.
However, apparently he's never beaten Djo+Nadal to ever win a major. Could be trouble.

Federer's game is more friendly on the eye than Nadal. He is all grace while Nadal is all brawn.

He has a little more history of winning at Wimbledon too.

Wouldn’t that be against federer. Nadal should get more support as an “underdog”. Instead Federer gets perceived as the last man standing in a game to be dominated by power hitters. So that is why he remains sentimental favorites in most majors(not sure about french).

Post subject:  Re: The Tennis Thread

He's a beloved "old" tennis legend and the crowd appreciates that because he could retire after this for all we know so anytime he's on court why wouldn't you root for him unless you REALLY love Nadal. I would have been happy if Nadal had won too. It's one of those I'm fine with whichever wins.

So when I'm rooting for legends its:
Fed>Nadal>Djokovic>every other player

Well...

My days ruined and it’s only 0908.
Sheesh

Simona gave nice commentary during the presentation. She was simply unstoppable today

Fuck! :( 3rd straight finals loss for Serena. :( wanted #24 for her. She’ll get there eventually cause she’s still at top of her game. One of the best to do it ever.

Let’s go Fed for #21

I think Djoc leads 25-22 or something like that .
Fed needs to make his own history beating the two legends to win a major for the first time.
Fed is saying I’m not retiring till y’all retire!

That was quite the slug fest...too bad Fed didn't pull it off, but he left it on the court himself. Djoko was composed and a killer in the tiebreaks.

I don't know if I was excited about that cutoff tie break. Yes it was almost 5 hours of play but I'd rather see it eventually end in a couple real games rather than that tiebreak but whatever. Rules are rules.

Apparently, Fed with those 2 chances at ending it and failing prolonged the match another 47 minutes. Damn, wish he had got an Ace.

Now that Novak has won 4 of the past 5 majors which I thought wasn't possible. He's made a lot of finals and lost to people he probably shouldn't have lost to and I thought he wasn't going to be able to produce after age 30 like Rafa and Fed. It appears that Novak will end up the all time major winner as he's still very fit very much on the top of his game and his prime as a thirtysomething.

I can’t believe how it turned out. I thought I read that Fed was undefeated against his potential remaining opponents. Quite a collapse after love-40 4-5 in the fourth to bring it even and back on serve . Shame

Aright. Serena has a winning record against svitolina. Apparently each time she’s lost a final at the open she’s come back to win it the following year. I can only hope she finally gets 24.

Nadal at this point probably has the best shot at all time grand slam wins. It would be a bit shocking after all these years if Federer ended up third in grand slams.

Federer is already 4th behind Court, Williams, and Graf.

Idk if it’s shocking with how Novak and Nadal have shown to have the same unreal longevity that Fed once had to himself. It’s more surprising that the other two are just as consistent to me.

And no Fed isn’t 4th behind women...

Svitolina is wearing one ugly outfit I must say. That back twist thing, someone help her . Serena going all black yoga suit again. How about silver or gold girl come on. Make some extra bucks
