 2012 London Olympics
Anyone been watching the trials? The swimming ones have been great. A strong mix of both great alumni and rookies with fantastic potential

 Re: 2012 London Olympics
Some of the swimming since they are putting it in primetime. I'm meh about it all though. My main sport I watch during the Summer Games is gymnastics so I'll definitely tune in to that. Some track and field later.

I've caught a bit of swimming and track and field. The Phelps vs. Lochte races were great!

The gymnastics teams look great. I definitely see Douglas, Orozco, and Wieber being big here.

 Re: 2012 London Olympics
I haven't been watching any Olympic trials, but I never do though. I will be watching as much of the Olympics as I can, however.
Usually, I watch: Indoor & Beach Volleyball, Swimming, High Dive, Men's & Women's Water Polo, Men's & Women's Basketball, Men's & Women's Soccer & Rowing.

 Re: 2012 London Olympics
Very good opening ceremony. And I always love the parade of nations; such a great tradition of the opening ceremony. It's just great to see all the countries, some of which I have to research to find myself. Olympics is truly the only sports where we could have this many countries come together.

 Re: 2012 London Olympics
If you missed the team archery gold medal match, you missed out. Very exciting. Italy needed a 10 on the final arrow to win by 1. Got it.

 Re: 2012 London Olympics
Yeah, that was an exciting final. U.S. missed a 10 by a hair, while Italy made a 10 right on the line. Super-close game. Still, beating South Korea in the semi is a great achievement.
And Phelps almost didn't make the 400 IM final.

 Re: 2012 London Olympics
Phelps got his ass kicked.
Even though he's still likely to get a few Gold and get the all-time medal count, it may have been a mistake to compete this year because it sort of kills the mystique of 2008, where he looked unbeatable.

 Re: 2012 London Olympics
Well he shouldn't have competed in the 400 IM. It's his worst event.

 Re: 2012 London Olympics
Tennis on bravo. Tsonga has some sweet red shoes on.
I need a pair of baby blue and blinding yellow to complete my collection.
Also, I've always hated how Olympic programs are televised with all the switching from events you want to see like swimming and gymnastics and showing stuff I don't care for.

 Re: 2012 London Olympics
Men's tennis is weird; now Novak is down a set.
I'm watching a lot of events, live or replay, on NBC website now instead.

 Re: 2012 London Olympics
Fun fact: The 4x100 was Phelps' first silver EVER.
He needs one more medal to tie the record and another one to break it.

 Re: 2012 London Olympics
Another set of amazing finals in swimming today. Great results for the U.S., and Agnel absolutely dominated the 200m freestyle final. Still, 2nd place is good for Sun.
